With our spectacular location, warm seas and summer breeze, Plunge Forster is right in the heart of the Barrington Coast. Are you planning to move to find a more balanced life and be surrounded by a great community that supports each other while living in paradise?

Plunge will be your first stop as we are a hub for all things food and wine, health and wellness, music and art and our team is expanding. Our venue is seeking individuals who are positive, outgoing, enjoy collaborating with a team and work for a family owned business.

We are looking for:

Quite literally jobs for the whole family, so jump up and come and introduce yourself. Our venue is a great place to work, there are like minded individuals seeking good local food, the best coffee in town and cocktails and music on weekends. We are a cafe, a bar, a live music venue two nights a week, hold health and holistic seminars, house an art gallery and host functions…we are buzzing.

You will be an outgoing and passionate person who thrives in a fast paced environment. Forster is not a sleepy little seaside town - we are bustling with loyal locals and visitors as we are 3 hours north of Sydney and 2.5 hours south of Coffs Harbour.

THE ROLES

CHEF

WHO ARE YOU:

  • You love food, you are self motivated, professional, have a strong attention to detail, thrive working as part of a team in a fast environment, are well presented and punctual

  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You love food and like working with local produce, you are creative and up for contributing to the menu as it changes seasonally to offer the best produce

  • You can lead and direct staff of all ages in a respectful manner

  • We want a team player who enjoys to work in a guest focused environment

  • You have excellent communication skills and time management

  • You will have the ability to work, mornings, lunch and/or dinner shifts and weekends according to business demands (we are open 7 days a week as a cafe and 2 nights on weekends for dinner). We cater weddings and functions. We are flexible as we are a family owned business and understand the needs of working families,

  • You can demonstrate an ability to constantly work well under pressure with a team and have initiative to be self motivated when given the reigns solo

  • Have a current working permit in Australia

BAR TENDER

  • You are qualified with an RSA and have experience behind a bar

  • We have a reputation for making the best cocktails in town, you can follow recipes but also add creativity and ideas when needed.

  • You are charismatic and sensitive to customers needs, we have high standards to uphold to as we are an upbeat modern bar with fine wine, cocktails and cold tap beer.

  • You are well presented and have good hygiene

  • You are available to work Friday and Saturday nights with the option to work during the week during the day in our cafe.

  • Our opening hours are 4pm to 10pm Friday and Saturday nights, shifts will fall just outside these hours with options to work during the week on day shifts if desired in our cafe / bar.

  • You have a positive attitude and can take initiative

BARISTA

  • Day time shifts only (no nights!) finished by 3:30pm to enjoy the day

  • Long term opportunity available

  • Previous experience working in a Front of House role or making coffees

  • Experience making coffees

  • Be extremely well presented with strong communication skills

  • Ability to work across a 7 day roster

  • Available to start immediately

  • Can handle a fast paced environment as we are a busy cafe.

  • Over the Christmas period, we will have more casual opportunities available also

JUNIOR STAFF

Junior staff will receive training so if this is your first role you just need some confidence and be willing to jump in there and give it a real go. If you have experience please let us know.

All applicants will need to be available seven days during the school holidays (but don’t worry you won’t have to work 7 days a week but just be flexible with days that you can work) and weekends during school term.

  • You will have the ability to work well under pressure, with a quick and keen eye for detail

  • You will have an energetic and enthusiastic personality with a strong desire to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • You will be confident to say hello to customers and willing to learn about the food so you can talk about it when asked.

  • Immaculate presentation, clean and tidy with a big smile and positive attitude.

  • We look after our junior staff well and understand school and sporting pressures as we are a family owned and run business. Please be open and honest with us about your commitments outside of work when applying so we can best fit you in our team
